Ask anyone and most will know the Royal Edinburgh Military Tattoo, but to actually work on the project was a unique opportunity. Chameleon Events was appointed as the Logistics Managers for the event. This involved every aspect of the 1500 performers, from flights, ground transport, accommodation, meals and showing them some true kiwi hospitality.
Meanwhile the city has sold every room to the public attending, Chameleon had to now find beds for 1500 people. Reactivating an old centre of learning and its endless rows of student rooms, from the ground up, boiler repairs, new linen and cleaning all turned around in time for their arrival.
Chameleon also embraced the daily, even hourly changes and needs of every performer including constant rescheduling of transport and rehearsal. The Edinburgh Management Team personally thanked Chameleon for achieving everything they wanted and in a friendly manner while under extreme pressure.
“While I was Chair of the NZ Festival of the Arts last year we ran our second Edinburgh Tattoo in Wellington. This was a highly popular and successful event over four nights in the Westpac Stadium. Jamie Wilson of Chameleon was the Logistic Manager for the project achieved great results under pressure. He is extremely adept at managing major events covering every aspect in detail.”
Kerry Prendergast, Executive Chair
The New Zealand Festival
“I have employed Chameleon Event Management for over five years in a variety of roles – from Logistics Managers for the 2016 New Zealand Festival’s Royal Military Tattoo to Production Manager for the WW100 Wellington City’s World War One Street Parade – roles which required all careful planning, logistics and delivery of such major projects.
I have found Jamie to be an excellent colleagues. The whole team is diligent, hard working, exceptionally professional and they all ensure the event they are managing is delivered to the highest possible standard leaving no stone unturned. Nor do they loose their sense of humour!
He is always willing to “go the extra mile” and I would highly recommend Chameleon Event Management to anyone looking for a creative, exceptionally delivered and high end product.”
