King Kong Premiere New Zealand Premiere

Chameleon Event Management was asked to organise this event as the final stop on a world-wide film cast promotional tour. Drawing on the knowledge and experience of the World Premiere in ’03, it was a challenge not to be missed.

The focus again was on Wellington’s Embassy Theatre – it was decided to set dress the front of the building with the illuminated signage, as used in the movie theatre where Kong is first shown to the public. With thousands of light working and blinking in unison it was a wonderful set piece and a scene for the crowds to remember.

As the night set in and the artificial lighting cast the building into a glow of color, you could not miss the authentic bi-plane perched high above the street in true King Kong style.

The guests were then rushed to an elaborate 1930’s hall for the after party. Set in style of a swinging 30’s dance club with food and drink to die for, it proved to be a perfect way to end the amazing day. Chameleon’s flawless logistics and experience have once again ensured that the studio, the cast, the guests and the hosting city were all very happy in all aspects of the organisation of the premiere, both in front of and behind the scenes.

Chameleon thoroughly enjoyed working with the Universal International Pictures team and the Wellington City Council to bring together another wonderful premiere in New Zealand.
